The National Mountain Bike Skill Awards comprise three parts: Three levels of mountain bike skills badges for the younger participant. Five levels of participant based mountain bike skills from novice to expert and elite rider. Something to challenge everyone. Two qualifications designed to enable mountain bikers to instruct, train, develop and assess participants in mountain bike riding skills and towards the Wheelie and Right Track Awards. This scheme encompasses awards for young people who wish to improve various skills associated with mountain biking. The awards are categorised into two groups: Wheelie Awards, made up of three levels, suit younger people. Progressing from these, five levels are available in stages through the Right Track scheme for older participants. The different elements of mountain biking are covered, ranging from basic riding skills through to advanced skills in all disciplines. They include cross country, downhill and trials. Participants also get the chance to take part in exciting riding, learn about maintaining their bikes, and looking after the environment.
